Therapy for Women Seeking Healing, Growth, and Change

Are you someone who appears “fine” on the outside—high-functioning, juggling countless responsibilities—while secretly struggling beneath the surface? Or maybe you’re visibly coming undone, overwhelmed by the weight of it all. Perhaps you've had painful experiences or past trauma that continue to echo into the present, making it hard to feel safe or whole. You may have turned to self-help books, heartfelt talks, or endless podcasts, but the relief never seems to last. Or maybe you hoped your struggles would fade over time, only to find yourself stuck and alone.

At Resilient Mind Integrative Therapy, I help women find clarity, healing, and meaningful change. I focus on building a genuine, trusting relationship where you feel safe, respected, and deeply understood. With a warm, direct, and relational approach combined with evidence-based practices, you’ll feel empowered to explore patterns, heal past wounds, and develop insights and skills that support lasting change.

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, but you deserve support and care. I’m committed to offering inclusive, culturally sensitive, anti-oppressive, and gender-affirming care where all parts of you are welcome. I believe in your capacity for healing, growth, and change. I’m here to help you navigate challenges and move toward the life you truly want.

You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s take the next step together.

What Happens In Therapy?

I work hard to create a safe space where trust, authenticity, connection and self-actualization flourish. This will empower you to develop the insights, skills and healing needed to make lasting, meaningful changes in your life.

Approach

Integrative therapy blends techniques and ideas from different types of therapy to best fit each person’s unique needs, preferences, and goals. Instead of sticking to just one method, the therapist draws from multiple approaches to create a flexible, personalized treatment. The aim is to support clients in a holistic and collaborative way that considers the whole person.

My integrative approach is relational and trauma-informed, focusing on building a genuine, trusting connection where you feel safe, respected, and deeply understood. I pay close attention to how your lived experiences shape the way you see yourself and relate to others. I’m also mindful of how trauma and stress can affect your body, sense of self, safety, relationships, and emotional well-being. I approach therapy with sincerity and transparency, so you’re never left wondering what I’m thinking and can feel safe and at ease in our work together.

I also focus on helping you develop practical skills to navigate life’s challenges. I use evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Relaxation Techniques, and Mindfulness. These approaches help you regulate emotions, improve relationships, stay present in your life, manage stress and anxiety, and reduce harmful behaviors.

An integrative approach combines several different modalities to meet your specific needs.

Mindfulness
Attachment-Based
Trauma-Informed

Mindfulness is the practice of paying focused, non-judgmental attention to the present moment—your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations. It helps you develop greater self-awareness and acceptance, reducing stress and improving emotional regulation. Mindfulness techniques encourage you to observe your experiences with curiosity and compassion, which can lead to increased calm, clarity, and resilience in daily life. By cultivating acceptance of the present moment, mindfulness also creates space for intentional choice and meaningful change, empowering you to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively.

Relaxation Techniques

Relaxation techniques help calm the mind and body by counteracting the body’s stress response—marked by symptoms like rapid heartbeat and muscle tension—and instead activating the Parasympathetic Nervous System, which restores balance and calm; practices such as deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, guided imagery, grounding, meditation, hypnotherapy, yoga, and exercise reduce anxiety, ease tension, and support overall mental and physical health, making it easier to handle life’s challenges.

Multicultural & Anti-Oppressive

Multicultural and anti-oppressive therapy recognizes how socio-political factors—such as cultural, ethnic, and racial identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation—as well as broader social inequalities and systemic oppression, shape your life experiences and mental health. A multicultural and anti-oppressive therapist brings deep cultural knowledge, curiosity, and sensitivity to the therapeutic space, offering support that is collaborative, empowering, and grounded in social justice to promote healing and growth.

Attachment-based therapy focuses on how your early relationships with caregivers shape the way you connect with others and experience yourself as an adult. Patterns of attachment can influence your emotions, sense of security, and how you handle closeness or conflict in relationships. You might find yourself feeling overwhelmed by insecurity or fear, struggling with intense emotions or detachment, or having difficulty trusting, connecting, or showing love and empathy. In attachment-based therapy, building a strong, secure relationship with your therapist becomes the foundation for healing. Together, you can work to repair old attachment wounds and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships built on trust, safety, and connection.

Dialectical Behavioral (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a skill-based, evidence-supported treatment that balances self-acceptance with meaningful change. In DBT, your therapist validates your experiences while guiding you to develop mindfulness, improve relationship and communication skills, and learn effective techniques to manage overwhelming emotions and stress. This approach helps you build resilience and create a more balanced, fulfilling life.

Health at Every Size (HAES)

Eating disorders can affect people of any size or background. Health at Every Size® (HAES®) offers a compassionate, weight-inclusive approach that prioritizes well-being over numbers on a scale, creating a safe space to heal relationships with food, movement, and the body, free from diet culture and weight stigma; recognizing that health is complex and shaped by many factors beyond weight. HAES focuses on sustainable self-care practices that support both physical and mental health.

Trauma-informed therapy acknowledges the widespread impact of trauma on both the mind and body. It integrates evidence-based practices, such as polyvagal theory and somatic therapy, to help repair your sense of safety, connection, self-image, inner peace, emotional regulation, and nervous system balance. Above all, it recognizes that your responses to trauma are biological and protective, not signs of weakness, and that healing happens best in an environment of trust, choice, and compassion.

Cognitive Behavioral  (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a skill-based, evidence-backed treatment that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Through CBT, you’ll learn practical techniques to identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and develop new behaviors that support your emotional well-being. This approach empowers you to make lasting changes both inside and outside of therapy sessions, leading to improved mood and healthier coping strategies.

Multidisciplinary Care for Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are complex illnesses impacting both physical and mental health, which is why effective treatment involves a multidisciplinary team—including a psychologist like myself, an eating disorder-informed dietitian, a primary care doctor, and sometimes a psychiatrist—each contributing unique expertise to address the medical, nutritional, and emotional aspects of recovery, ensuring comprehensive, personalized care that goes beyond symptoms to help you heal your relationship with food, your body, and yourself.

Health Insurance

I am an in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO.

If you have another insurance provider with out-of-network benefits, I will happily provide you with a detailed invoice, also known as a Superbill, for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Many insurance policies include out-of-network benefits that reimburse a significant portion of the session fee.

It is important for you to call your insurance to find out about your specific plan and benefits.

Private Pay

I offer private pay options for clients who choose not to use insurance. Private pay offers more privacy, flexibility, and control over your care. When you pay out-of-pocket, your therapy stays confidential between you and your therapist, without sharing personal information or a mental health diagnosis with insurance companies.

Private pay also allows us to tailor your treatment to your unique needs, without restrictions on session length, frequency, or specific therapy approaches. You won’t have to worry about denied claims, coverage changes, or surprise bills.

While using insurance can help with costs, many clients find the freedom, privacy, and personalized care of private pay to be worth the investment in their mental health and well-being.

Cancellations

To avoid being charged for your appointment, please cancel a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, or missed completely, will be charged at the full rate. Please note that if you use insurance to pay for sessions, you will be responsible for the full session fee, not just your copay. Insurance does not reimburse for sessions that do not happen.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Resilient Mind Integrative Therapy, PLLC? Resilient Mind Integrative Therapy, PLLC is an online therapy practice thoughtfully designed for women seeking high-quality, compassionate, and personalized therapy that is conveniently accessible from the comfort of home and available across state lines, using a secure, HIPPA compliant video platform.

Who do you typically work with? Adult women (18+ years old) struggling with issues such as trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, life transitions, burnout, relationships and cross-cultural challenges, and women's issues. Additionally, I specialize in providing therapy to other therapists and mental health professionals.

How long are therapy sessions? Therapy sessions are scheduled in intervals of 50 minutes.

How many sessions should I plan to attend? How often? I typically recommend starting with weekly sessions to build momentum and make meaningful progress. As therapy continues, some clients choose to space sessions out to every other week or monthly before wrapping up. While a minimum of 15 to 20 weekly sessions is often suggested, the total length of therapy really depends on your unique goals and needs. Many clients find they benefit from working together over a longer period. No matter how many sessions you decide on, attending consistently is key—it helps you see better and faster results.

How much do you charge? 50 Minutes Initial Evaluation  $250 50 Minute Individual Psychotherapy  $190

Do you accept insurance? Yes, I am an in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. Please note that if you have a BCBS HMO plan, I am NOT considered an in-network provider. If you have another insurance plan with Out-Of-Network benefits, I will happily provide you with a detailed invoice, also known as a Superbill, for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Some insurance policies include Out-Of-Network Benefits that reimburse a significant portion of the session fee.

What are Out-Of-Network Insurance Benefits? Some insurance plans—especially PPO plans—offer out-of-network benefits. These benefits let you see providers who aren’t in your insurance company’s network. Instead of paying only a copay like you might with in-network providers, you pay your therapist’s full fee up front. Your therapist then provides you with a Superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, often covering a significant portion of the session fee.

How do I know if my insurance plan has Out-Of-Network Benefits? To find out if you have out-of-network benefits: * Call the customer service number on your insurance card. * Ask if you have out-of-network mental health benefits for outpatient therapy. You can mention common service codes (CPT codes) like 90791 (intake session) and 90837 (individual therapy). * Ask what percentage they reimburse and whether you have a deductible to meet first. *Ask if there are any eligibility requirements. * Ask what information they’ll need from your therapist on a receipt or “superbill” to process reimbursement. Using out-of-network benefits can help make therapy more affordable. I’m happy to help you navigate this process.

Why do some people choose Private Pay? I offer private pay options for clients who can't or don't want to use insurance. While using insurance can help with costs, many clients find the freedom, privacy, and personalized care of private pay to be worth the investment in their mental health and well-being.

What is your cancellation policy? I require at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, though more than 48 hours’ notice is greatly appreciated. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. Late cancellations or missed appointments will be charged the full session fee. If you’re using insurance, please know you’ll be responsible for the full fee—not just your copay—since insurance does not cover sessions that don’t occur. If we’re able to reschedule your appointment within the same week, the late fee may be waived at my discretion.

Where are you located? I’m based in Chicago but provide all therapy sessions online. This allows me to work with clients across Illinois, Massachusetts, and all participating PSYPACT states.

Why do you only see clients online? What are the benefits of teletherapy?  I have an online therapy practice because it allows me to provide high-quality, personalized care without geographical barriers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, my clients and I experienced how effective, meaningful, and convenient virtual therapy can be. Telehealth makes it easier to schedule and attend sessions consistently, which helps maintain progress and continuity of care. It also saves time and gives you the freedom to choose a therapist who truly feels like the right fit, rather than being limited by geography.

How does teletherapy compare with in-person therapy? According to an article published by the American Psychological Association, "Teletherapy, including services delivered via telephone or videoconferencing, has been shown to have similar outcomes to traditional, in-person therapy. Teletherapy has been shown to be an efficacious treatment modality for a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and adjustment disorder, 15 among others."  www.apa.org/practice/telehealth-telepsychology

Is online therapy confidential?  Yes, I use a confidential and HIPPA compliant video conferencing software. I meet with clients from a secure, private location and I ask that you do the same.

How do I know if online therapy is right for me? Online therapy—also called teletherapy or virtual therapy—can be a great option if you have a reliable internet connection and a device with video and audio, like a phone, tablet, or computer. It also requires having a safe, quiet, and private space where you feel comfortable speaking openly. This could be a private room at home, a safely parked car, a private office at work, or even a hotel room while traveling. Online therapy is especially helpful for people who travel frequently or spend time in different states, as it allows you to keep working with the same therapist no matter where you are. Many clients appreciate the flexibility, convenience, and continuity of care that online therapy provides—and find it just as personal and effective as in-person sessions.

How do I know if I need individual therapy? There’s no one “right” reason to start therapy. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or notice ongoing struggles affecting your mood, health, relationships, or daily life, therapy can help you find relief and clarity. It’s a space to explore challenges, build coping skills, and feel more like yourself again.
